However, if you’re traveling from a distance, like we were, you’ll need accommodation that offers more than just a bed. With three kids, finding a place where we can prepare at least one meal a day is crucial for saving money and allowing us to unwind with a warm meal in the evening.

My husband and I look for similar features when we travel for work, as it simply makes being away feel more like home. On our initial trip to Boise, we decided to try an Airbnb, having heard wonderful things about vacation rentals. I can wholeheartedly agree with the positive reviews!

• One of the great perks of renting a vacation home is that many platforms offer incentives, like a discount on your first booking.
• For families with more than four people, hotel rooms can feel quite cramped. We found that a condo was often cheaper than a typical hotel room, yet provided a full kitchen, multiple bedrooms, laundry facilities, and significantly more space to relax and spread out.
