Whether you’re a teacher or parent looking for a Christmas hand print gift to make with your Kindergartners or child this Santa handprint craft is easy and cute! Overall it is a cheap gift idea for kids and since they’re involved in the process they will be excited to give it to someone special. It is a great memory jar of sorts too since it shows their little hand painting. (originally published 12/18, affiliate advertiser links present)

This is how you make this easy Santa craft.

We used Santa Claus this year but you could use any of these cute handprint art ideas and put that on the front really, it could be made year round!

    • You’ll need a child’s hand of course and…
    • Large mason jars – like these
    • Acrylic paints – red and white
    • Black markers – I like Sharpies
      • googly eyes could be used too
    • Ribbon
    • Tea candles – flameless ones are best

Regular tea lights like this are okay for this Christmas craft but I found the flameless ones are easier. That way kids can “light” them too.

    Santa Mason Jars

I am a former teacher so I love creating cheap crafts for kids.

Especially when the holidays get close it’s fun to take a break from the academics a bit and make something they can give their parents or grandparents.

I have something similar my youngest made for Thanksgiving and I take it out each year, every year I’m surprised to find it and it reminds me of how quickly time is passing by……

These are great teacher teacher appreciation gift ideas for elementary school students, or for grandparents for sure.

    Time needed: 25 minutes

    1. Paint First you’re going to paint the outside of the jar with red acrylic paint. Let it dry completely. Paint each child’s palm flesh color and make their fingers white. Press against jar with fingers pointing toward the bottom (that will be beard). Allow to completely dry
    2. Touch up
    3. Use a paint brush to go over some of the flesh color to complete the beard and the bottom of the hat.
    4. Decorate
    5. Use white paint to make a white ball at the end of Santa’s hat.Tie Christmas ribbon around the mason jar lid.Put your tea light inside and close lid.Wrap in cheap tissue paper to take home to put under the Christmas tree
