It’s summertime and the temperature is rising!! Time to make some homemade popsicles to cool off. We have a few recipes we will share with you but this fresh fruit rainbow popsicle recipe is one of our favorites! You can use fresh or frozen fruit, I just use what is the freshest and what is on sale basically. 😉 (affiliate links present)

Rainbow Popsicles

There is always fresh fruit at great prices during the summertime so pick up a few extras and make these fruit pops! You just need a blender and popsicle holders along with your fruit and the kids can help! Any shape or size will do and you can use your popsicle holders over and over again…great investment if you have kids.

It’s also a great way to introduce your kids to new fruits (and sometimes you can sneak in a veggie or two blending a piece of carrot with your mango) in a fun way. 🙂

Ingredients

  1. Frozen or fresh fruit
  2. Water or fruit juice
  3. You will want a blender
  4. and molds are handy but could pour into dixie cups and peel off when firm

Can you make popsicles with frozen fruit?

You can use either frozen or fresh fruits, just use what you see that looks good in the produce section that are different colors and then supplement with frozen fruit for the others. For these frozen blueberries and raspberries were used along with fresh kiwi and mango (but you can use other fruits you love).

Once done you can mix and match with a lot of different flavors, or just one and continue making other popsicle recipes for years to come….

How to Make Homemade Rainbow Popsicles

  • Add the raspberries and 2 tbsp. of water to a blender.
  • Puree until smooth and pour 1/4 way into the popsicle molds (you can do this in any order you like), put sticks in each hole.
  • Freeze for at least 10-15 min. Rinse the blender and add the diced mango pieces with 1/4 c. water, puree until smooth.
  • Pour into molds, replace popsicle holder (each time or they won’t go in at the end).
  • Rinse blender and repeat with each other fruit. Kiwi won’t need added water and blueberries only need maybe 1 tbsp. water.
  • Use pineapple or papaya too if you like those instead of the fruits we used here. Freeze total filed popsicles 2-3 hours until solid.
  • If popsicles don’t slide our run the mold under warm water and they should come out easily.

Use a variety of fruits but really it is a sugar free healthy popsicle recipe that kids will think is a dessert because of the natural fruit sweetness.
