Unicorn Muddy Buddies

We have been thinking of unicorns this week and thought we’d put a fun twist on the traditional puppy chow or muddy buddy recipe and make unicorn horn muddy buddies this week! It only requires a few ingredients and is so delicious you will want to make them over and over again. Let us share our recipe with you. (affiliate links present)

Unicorn Horn Muddy Buddies

Aren’t these fun??!! Everyone loves unicorns, I mean who wouldn’t! There are a few distinct features to a unicorn for us and those are the beautiful white horns and rainbows. So we thought we would go with those thoughts.

First you’re going to make the mixture for muddy buddies that you can find on the side of any Chex mix box. You can also use our original muddy buddiespost where we had a St.Patrick’s Day theme to them.

Traditionally this is made with rice Chex but those aren’t the right shape so Bugles worked perfectly! This time I wanted to make a small batch muddy buddies so I cut the recipe in half. I used just

Ingredients

• Butter just a bit is needed to stick it well
• Peanut butter, creamy is best to make it sticky
• White chocolate chips or any flavor you love
• Bugles chips as the unicorn horns
• Powdered sugar with a large baggie

I used about 4 cups of those but you can mess around with the amounts. That depending on how drenched you want your puppy chow to be.

This part is great for the kiddos. Put 1 cup or so of powdered sugar into a large zipper bag with your mixture. Slowly toss to coat them then add whatever you’d like to make it rainbowish!! We added some sprinkles and silver sugar to make our unicorn horn muddy buddies shine.

What foods to serve at a unicorn party?

I mean typically with this “animal” the colors that are synonymous with it would be rainbow. You can go all out with that and could throw in multi-colored sprinkles to this to keep on the same theme. Beyond that you could make Stained Glass cookies can be made with any shape but a horse head would be best.

What flavor is unicorn flavor?

I mean that depends on whom you ask I guess. If I had to choose one it would likely be blue raspberry because you can’t really describe what that even is. Blue is always bright too and unique, such as this whimsical horse we all love.

Easy Unicorn Dessert Recipe Idea

You could make a whole buffet to make cupcake sundae bowls with all the toppings and this could be one of those. Beyond that you can look online for sprinkles in this shape as well as a cookie cutter so you can shape all the other things you serve. Use that on cheese slices, bologna for sandwiches, pepperoni for homemade pizzas etc…..

For sure you can. We did just that here with Bugles chips that are shaped differently and bring a savory element to this sweet treat. I would choose something that is larger than flakes as far as cereals go but Kix would work well too.
